from/to Trogir with San Snova

Tourmap

Route

Tour profile: Level 1

The cycle tours we offer here take place under the expert guidance of your tour guide, who is familiar with the terrain. The bicycle tours do not require particular physical fitness. The walks and short hikes follow good paths, which are in part even asphalted and are also not at all demanding. Should some activities require greater fitness, your tour guide will point this out before hand.

Day 1: Trogir (Embarkation) – Island of Vis

Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 5 km/3 mi. away from the harbour of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht (from 2:30 p.m.) the first short cruise starts around 3 p.m. from Trogir to the Island of Šolta. On the way we have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim from the boat. The first night is spent on the Island of Vis.

Day 2: Island of Vis, approx. 10 km

In the morning we can take part on an adventurous bike tour which takes us past the old military tunnels which crisscross the island, on our way to the fortress of St. George which played a significant role in the seafaring history of the island. Once back at the boat we cruise towards the island of Hvar and find a beautiful bay to anchor in for a long swimming break and for a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 3: Island of Hvar

We go on a morning crossing to Hvar Island with its island capital Hvar town. After arrival we take a city tour across the large Renaissance Square which is surrounded by the cathedral and many late gothic palaces. We are able to hike to the Spanish fortress that towers above the town. From here we have a fabulous view onto the city and the surrounding islands. With lunch on board, we cast off from Hvar and anchor in the Pakleni Islands for a lengthy swim stop. In the afternoon we lift the anchor and cruise to the city of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, where we will spend the night.

Day 4 Island of Hvar and Brač, approx. 13 - 25 km

In the morning we cruise to the famous ‘Golden Horn’ Beach in Bol on the island of Brač where the ship lowers its anchor for the morning. Here we can choose between a variety of activities both in the water and on land (not included in the tour price) or just enjoy the summer morning swimming and chilling on deck. During lunch on board, we cruise to the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar where we can enjoy a bike tour along the beautiful seafront promenade through Vrboska, past the UNESCO Stari Grad Plains. Decide for yourself if you wish to do a longer or shorter version of the cycle tour. Enjoy the evening on board with a captains dinner and celebrate a successful day!

Day 5: Island Brač

The morning is spent on board enjoying a longer cruise to Lovrečina Bay on the island of Brač. Once we have arrived, big and small islandhoppers are invited to a game of beach Olympics in the bay. In the afternoon a 1.5 hour hike along the coast brings us to Postira. Here the sunset can be enjoyed on one of the many cafes or bars.

Day 6: Cetina Canyon – Omiš – Split

During breakfast the boat brings us to the city of Split, where we have the choice to either to take a bus transfer to go rafting through the Cetina Canyon (not included in the tour price) or to explore the wonderful Marjan forrest Park in Split on foot along with an extended visit to the beach for a swim and games at the beach. In the afternoon we can explore the bustling city of Split.  We enjoy an exciting tour through the UNESCO old town, built within the palace walls of the roman Emperor Diocletian. The night is spent in Split.

Day 7: Island of Šolta – Trogir, approx. 8 km

In the first half of the day we can cycle on the island of Šolta to Goran, a local beekeeper to participate in an interactive workshop on bees, their purpose, products and the life of a beekeeper. Goran is an expert in capturing the fascination of young and old with the enthusiasm he has for the bees which he keeps. We return to Rogač where the boat waits. Lunch will be enjoyed on board during the last crossing by boat for the week as the captain charters his course back to Trogir. Along the way the anchor is droped for an enjoyable dip in the Adria directly from the boat. In the afternoon we enjoy Trogir by taking a walk through the UNESCO protected old town. Traditionally the last evening before disembarkation is spent cheerfully with guests, crew and guides.

Day 8: Trogir (Disembarkation)

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

    Welcome aboard the SAN SNOVA!

    Facilities

The MS San Snova is a wooden motor-sailer that was launched in spring 2009 and made exclusively for Islandhopping cruises. The ship, constructed entirely of oak, was built in three years by the Scherka family in their own carpentry workshop as family project. The ship, 100 ft./31 m long and 26 ft./8 m wide, meets the highest expectations in regard to comfort, elegance and style, combining romantic seafaring with modernity and functionalism. Young captain Tonci prides himself in the meticulous appearance of the ship and the cordiality on board.

The roomy sun deck offers comfortable mats for relaxing and lounge chairs are found on the afterdeck. So let yourself be pampered and enjoy the “Dream of Dreams” (San Snova), as the Scherka family named their ship!

    Cabins

The San Snova has five double cabins (with double beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 5,2 ft./160 cm) and five triple cabins above deck (with double beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 5,2 ft./160 cm and single bunk beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 2,6 ft./80 cm) as well as four spacious triple cabins below deck. Two of these triple cabins can also be used as quadruple cabins by adding a camp bed. The fittings of the cabins as well as the saloon and the outside area are of superior quality with many carefully created details.

    Catering

The cook that travels along is a member of the crew and prepares breakfast and one or two warm dishes a day. Catering includes 2 x full board and 5 x half board and starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.

We had a fantastic holiday on our recent family cruise to Dalmatia.

We are a couple in our sixties who travelled (without our family). We chose this cruise as we didn’t want to cycle far in the heat. Our boat, the San Snova, was lovely. The cabin was very comfortable and the food was simple but beautifully served. There ...

This was NOT a Level 1 tour. Croatia is very hilly. Tour guide was excellent and happened to have an extra e-bike available. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to complete the rides. There were no travel documents given. We rode as a group.
