National Parks Dalmatia by Bike + Boat

from/to Trogir with San Snova

Itinerary

Route

Tour profile: Level 1-2

This tour is one of the easier ones in our programme. Easy to medium cycle tours through hilly terrain for island hoppers with a good basic level of fitness (20 - 35 km and 200 - 500 metres of climbing per day). Only occasionally are there steeper climbs to contend with, but pushing is permitted. The roads are mainly asphalted and not very busy outside the holiday periods.

This tour is primarily designed as a guided group tour. After prior consultation with our tour guides and the selection of a suitable route, nothing stands in the way of individual cycling. Instead of a cycle tour, a half or full day can also be spent on the boat.

Day 1: Trogir – Rogoznica

Individual arrival either by car to Trogir or by plane to Split. After checking in on the motor yacht between 2.30 and 3:00 p.m. at Trogir our first cruise starts at 3 p.m. leading us to Rogoznica - a village on a small island which is connected to the mainland by a dam. Here we also spend our first night.

Day 2: Vodice – Isand of Murter – Nature park Telašćica, approx. 26 km

After breakfast, the boat takes you to Vodice. There you start your cycle tour to the island of Murter, which is connected to the mainland by a lift bridge near Tisno. Cycle along the coast through fishing villages to a jetty where the boat awaits you. The journey takes you through the Kornati National Park, known for its small islands and abundance of fish. Your destination is the Telašćica Nature Park, where you take a walk to the salt lake and the impressive cliffs.

Day 3: Island of Dugi Otok and Zadar, approx. 32 km

After a restful night, you start the day energised. You cycle along an almost car-free road out of the Telašćica Nature Park and enjoy the impressive views over the island of Dugi Otok and the deep blue sea. Meet your ship in Brbinj harbour for the crossing to Zadar. An exciting tour of the old town, once the centre of Dalmatia, awaits you there. Marvel at the 3,000-year history of the city with its fortress walls, defence towers, loggia and St. Donatus Basilica.

Day 4: Island of Ugljan und Pašman, approx. 33 km

During breakfast, you cross the Zadar Channel by boat and reach the island of Ugljan. The day offers plenty of time to explore the islands of Ugljan and Pašman, which are connected by a bridge, by bike. You cycle through idyllic villages with charming stone houses and along small harbours, always with a view of the sea and the mainland. In the afternoon, you sail on to Vodice, where you spend the night.

Day 5: Vodice – Skradin – Krka National Park, approx. 35 km

A highlight of the trip awaits you today. Your cycle tour takes you along idyllic paths through secluded villages in the Dalmatian hinterland to the charming town of Skradin, the gateway to the Krka Canyon. In the afternoon, a small boat will take you into the Krka National Park to the famous waterfalls. Enjoy enough time to explore this breathtaking natural spectacle on foot. Spend the night in the quiet harbour of Skradin.

Day 6: Skradin – Šibenik – Primošten, approx. 28 km

In the morning, the boat takes you back along the Krka River towards the sea and the town of Šibenik. Explore the town with its impressive Cathedral of St James, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then continue by boat to Primošten. From there, your cycle tour takes you first to Rogoznica and then back to Primošten.

Day 7: Island of Šolta – Trogir, approx. 19 km

In the morning our motor yacht takes us to the island of Solta. Olive and fig trees and farmland surround the streets. The spicy smell of lavender and rosemary will follow us throughout the whole tour around the silent island until we reach the village Grohote. During mid day our last cruise takes us back to Trogir. Here we have enough time to visit the world cultural heritage old town. After dinner it is time to say good bye to crew and travel guides.

Day 8: Trogir (Disembarkation)

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

    Ship

    Welcome aboard the SAN SNOVA!

    Facilities

The MS San Snova is a wooden motor-sailer that was launched in spring 2009 and made exclusively for Islandhopping cruises. The ship, constructed entirely of oak, was built in three years by the Scherka family in their own carpentry workshop as family project. The ship, 100 ft./31 m long and 26 ft./8 m wide, meets the highest expectations in regard to comfort, elegance and style, combining romantic seafaring with modernity and functionalism. Young captain Tonci prides himself in the meticulous appearance of the ship and the cordiality on board.

The roomy sun deck offers comfortable mats for relaxing and lounge chairs are found on the afterdeck. So let yourself be pampered and enjoy the “Dream of Dreams” (San Snova), as the Scherka family named their ship!

    Cabins

The San Snova has five double cabins (with double beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 5,2 ft./160 cm) and five triple cabins above deck (with double beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 5,2 ft./160 cm and single bunk beds 6,5 ft./200 cm x 2,6 ft./80 cm) as well as four spacious triple cabins below deck. Two of these triple cabins can also be used as quadruple cabins by adding a camp bed. The fittings of the cabins as well as the saloon and the outside area are of superior quality with many carefully created details.

    Catering

The cook that travels along is a member of the crew and prepares breakfast and one or two warm dishes a day. Catering includes 2 x full board and 5 x half board and starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.
