You cycle mostly on unpaved, but easily passable natural roads and asphalted side roads. Sometimes the paths are flat, sometimes a little hilly, and there are daily climbs to contend with, varying between 200 and 700 meters in altitude.

On the first day, you cycle through fruit plantations and orchards past the village of Moncarapacho towards the sea in the direction of Fuseta. During a break on the harbour promenade, you can watch the fishermen at work in their brightly painted boats. The route then takes you through the Ria Formosa Nature Park, a lagoon area with sandbanks, islands and water channels. In Olhão, you can marvel at the largest still active fishing port and you should not miss the old town before returning to your hotel.

Today’s cycle tour takes you through orange and fruit plantations, almond and olive groves to the village of Sta. Barbara de Nexe. The village is situated on a hill with a breathtaking view of Faro and the Atlantic Ocean. The "Igreja Matriz", a Gothic church from the 15th century, is the jewel of the village. Nearby is a modern winery where you can sample wines. The tour leads uphill through the villages of Charneca, Palhagueira and Corotelo. Afterwards, an exhilarating descent takes you back to the hotel via Estoi.

Today the tour takes you around the "San Miguel" mountain, which rises high above the plain. You reach the village of Santa Catarina through small hamlets and hilly landscapes with typical Algarve vegetation. The route continues through a sparsely populated, natural area with little traffic. Here and there you will see old Moorish wells, some still in use, others half-ruined or restored. You then cycle along a hill with a view of the Serra hills. The tour ends with a long descent.

Today you cycle to the capital of the Algarve, Faro. Surrounded by an old city wall, you will find many renovated buildings from the heyday of the 16th and 18th centuries, such as a cathedral with a bishop’s seat, a monastery and many museums. Through the town gate "Arco da Vila" you reach the small marina. Cafés and restaurants invite you to linger. Out of Faro, through small picturesque villages, you return to your accommodation on side roads.

You start the bike tour in the direction of São Brás, which is located at the beginning of the hilly Serra. The world’s best cork raw material is harvested there and processed in one of the last cork oak factories in the region. In the middle of the town is a large main square with many stores, cafés and restaurants. The small but beautiful traditional costume museum is definitely worth a visit. Afterwards, the route takes you to Santa Catarina on a long, flat stretch. Here it is worth visiting the cooperative olive oil production facilities before cycling back to your hotel through the charming old town of Moncarapacho.

You drive through the plain of the "Ribeiro de Lourenço", an undeveloped natural river valley with many orange plantations, and reach the luxury resort Quinta do Lago. We continue past beautifully landscaped golf courses and luxurious villas down towards the sea in the Ria Formosa nature reserve. On a natural path through the lagoons, you reach the Ilha do Faro, an offshore island and the beach of the town of the same name. Cycle along the airport towards Montenegro and past one of Faro’s universities. A short stretch on the national highway and then along side roads through Patacão and Conceição back to the hotel.
