You will ride on flat and well-maintained bike paths throughout your trip.

Individual arrival. Embarkation at 2 pm in the centre of Amsterdam. The crew will welcome you with coffee and tea. At 2.30 pm the barge leaves the harbor. At 4 pm there will be a first ride by bike from the lock at Spaarndam to Haarlem. After dinner you can join a walk through Haarlem.

Today’s stage takes you past the oldest tulip fields in the Netherlands. Afterwards, a visit to Keukenhof, the most beautiful flower park in the world, is on the agenda. Here you will experience the spring awakening in all its glory: seven million blooming tulips in the middle of a 32-hectare garden with classical and modern arrangements and an overwhelming play of colors. Various types of hyacinths, daffodils and other flowers complete the colorful spectacle. In the afternoon, you will continue by bicycle to Leiden. After dinner you can join a walking tour through Leiden.

After breakfast you will cycle out of Leiden. You will travel through the ‘green heart’ of Holland. Near Zoeterwoude, you will visit a cheese farm where you will learn about the cheese-making process and you will have the opportunity to taste the results. In the afternoon you reach Gouda, famous for the Gouda cheese. Gouda has an attractive compact center with her pretty market square and Gothic town hall. The main church of Gouda, devoted to Saint John, is world famous for its stained glass windows. After dinner you can join the walk through town.

We stay in Gouda this morning. You have the opportunity to do some shopping and to visit the market square with its cheese weigh house or you can visit the St. Johns church. We leave by barge around noon and have a light lunch on board. From Alphen aan den Rijn you cycle through the ‘green heart’ of South Holland via river Drecht and Amstel-Drecht channel to Kudelstaart.

The day starts early at 6.30 with a morning coffee. Afterwards you cycle to the largest flower auction in Europe in Aalsmeer. Every day huge quantities of flowers are delivered here, sold and exported all over Europe - a logistical masterpiece! After the visit, return to the ship at 9 am for a leisurely breakfast. In the meantime, the ship will sail to Amsterdam and up to the city center. Today’s bike tour will take you from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, a unique Old Dutch village near the Zaan River. The village with traditional wooden houses is dominated by the numerous windmills that are still in working order. The oldest was built in 1673 and they are still used to grind mustard, spices, paint and oil and to produce wood. In the village you will also find a clock museum, a traditional grocery store, a house with historical furnishings, a clog maker and a cheese factory.

On the ships Allure + Sarah: In the afternoon you will continue by bike to Purmerend, where the ship will be waiting for you for the night.

Today’s tour will take you to the special garden museum Hortus Bulborum. The museum specializes in the preservation of rare and historical flowers. More than 4,000 tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other flowers are planted here. The bike tour then continues to Egmond on the North Sea and then across the dunes to today’s stage destination, Alkmaar. The beauty of the old town, with its well-preserved 17th-century buildings and narrow, winding canals, is absolutely stunning. In the evening you will have dinner in the city (not included).

After breakfast your cycling tour leads you to the former windmill complex of the Schermer Polder. Here we visit the Schermerhorn Windmill Museum. Your next stop is the beautiful town of De Rijp. Centuries of history are still evident here in De Rijp’s wooden facades, beautiful church, lock and town hall. From here, your ride continues back to Amsterdam. In the late afternoon or evening there is time for a canal tour through the famous canals of the city.

Disembarkation after breakfast until 9.30 am. Individual departure or extension in Amsterdam.
