professional handlings all the way
1) In registration- Julia Kahrer & Marie Schladt did great job, they listen, and were flexible enough to our satisfaction
2) The byc company- the delivery process of the bicycle was pleasant, the quality of the byc was very good (even surprised us).
3) The hotels quality- very good vs. the cost, clean, breakfast were good. The reception guys were kind/helpful (except in Krems). In some we were asked to pay tourist tax (were not aware to it).
4) The bags’ transportation- arrived on time, with no damage. Could be better if it was not limited to one piece, especially in case of international customer that combine the Byc tour with other tour.
5) The documents: good, the book is very detailed and the rout highlights list is also very important, e.g, recommendations on which band to ride each time. We missed it for the last bike day (because of a change that we did).
6) The route: nice, comments:
- recommend to take train from Linz to Enns area, to save time/km, so you can enjoy more the attractions on the way Enns-Grien , to visit both Mauthausen concentrate camp and Enns, save Energy (40km instead 60km).
- Consider to take train at Linz’ entry to Linz (nothing to see).
Consider to switch/take train Krems to tulln.
- Strongly recommend to visit the spotting in Schlögen (Danube loop), the 20min climb (or by other way) worth it.
- The seating 60km a day, on the bicycle, was the main challenge in this tour to me. Need to take in consideration (dressing appropriate pants, bring your own seat, shorten the km per day, etc.). The route itself is flat and easy, no problem with it.
