Cycling the lakes in Carinthia
Excellent cycling routes, well documented in English, the tour operator?s arrows were helpful and signposted accurately.
However, some of the text of the English version route guide needs checking, as LEFT and RIGHT were sometimes the wrong way round. Also one stretch between Klopein and the Drau bridge along a very windy, steep main road Is quite dangerous, as there is no cycle path and the cyclist has to compete with fast heavy traffic. Please find a safer route for this bit of the journey. The hotels are all on very noisy main roads, especially Hotel Mosser in Villach, where we spent 4 nights. We had to request a change of rooms due to noise and a bad stench in the first allocation. Hotel personnel were very helpful generally. Breakfasts were all good. Bicycles were stored safely in dedicated lock-up at Hotel Mosser. All other hotels found empty dining rooms or garage for bike storage.
Overall we had a good time, the trip was good value for the price considering we booked in the LOW season. Thank you for your help. We will cycle with you again.
