Inn cycle path Innsbruck to Passau - a very hot August 2023
A lovely 8 days cycle tour along the River Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed the route. Although the weather was extremely hot the daily distances were manageable. The route was easy to follow and we used both the book and the phone app. We deviated from the suggested route south of the river on the Muhldorf to Kirchdorf section. The cycle tracks adjacent the very busy roads on this section were unpleasant so we diverted just north of Am Huf on to the cycle trails through the forests. The green route on the phone app does not join road 20 as shown but it is possible to get back to a cycle path at the junction to the north by ignoring the end of track signs and continuing for about 50m and exiting through a swing gate. The route through the forest was wonderful and there seems to be similar opportunities to avoid the southbound section of this roadside loop by using the old postal routes in the forest to the west. All hotels were lovely except Gastof Flotzinger Brau in Rossenheim- traffic all night and the noise from surrounding night clubs was terrible; breakfast was poor and in a small stuffy room.
