Itinerary

Route

You cycle along towpaths beside the canals or on quiet side roads, field and forest paths. There are a few longer climbs to tackle, so a basic level of fitness is recommended.

Individual arrival in Bamberg and embarkation from 4:00 p.m. Take your time to discover the picturesque old town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a real gem of Franconia. Stroll along the Regnitz River, visit the imposing cathedral, or enjoy a typical Franconian beer in one of the traditional inns. Your journey begins with plenty of charm and enjoyment.

Day 2: Bamberg Erlangen, approx. 45 km
The first stage takes you through the wide meadows of the Regnitz Valley. Forchheim, a cozy half-timbered town, is well worth a stop with its old town flair. In the afternoon, you will reach Erlangen, known for its Baroque architecture, university, and relaxed, youthful atmosphere.

Day 3: Erlangen Nuremberg, approx. 30 km
The Regnitz Cycle Route continues through renaturalized floodplain landscapes, shaded by old oak trees and crisscrossed by hop vines. Fürth invites you to take a detour with its charming city center. Your destination is lively Nuremberg – a city between the Middle Ages and modernity, with a mighty imperial castle, narrow old town streets, and a great history.

Day 7: Riedenburg Regensburg, approx. 55 km
Your last stage begins with a wonderful ride to Kelheim, where the Altmühl and Danube rivers converge. We provide you with modern quality e-bikes (pedelecs) with Nexus 8-speed hub gears, gradually selectable aid of pedaling power, puncture-proof tires and deep UNISEX comfort entry. The electric bikes from Velo de Ville are equipped exclusively with Bosch mid-mounted motors and fully integrated 500 Wh Bosch batteries. The design of the batteries allows them to almost disappear into the frame. This gives you better weight distribution and a low center of gravity without missing the convenience of easy entry. You save your battery by starting with as low a support as possible and increasing as needed. Please note that with the newer models of our e-bikes it is not possible to attach handlebar bags due to the additional fixed speedometers and wider handlebars.

IMPORTANT: Please reserve ebikes early, as they are only available in very limited numbers.
