Itinerary

Route

The cycling tours lead you on paved bike paths, and side roads with less traffic. There are no uphill climbs.

Day 1: Amsterdam – Volendam
Individual arrival. Boarding between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Departure for Volendam at approximately 2:30 p.m. During the trip, your tour guide will explain the route and safety regulations. After dinner on board, your tour guide will accompany you on a walk through picturesque Volendam, a fishing village on the shores of the IJsselmeer.

Day 2: Volendam – Hoorn – Enkhuizen, approx. 28 km
After breakfast, you will cycle via Edam, famous for its cheese and once an important port, to Hoorn, a former trading center of the East India Company. In the afternoon, the ship will take you to Enkhuizen with its old harbor and historic old town.

Day 3: Enkhuizen – Oudeschild, sailing day
Today you will sail to the island of Texel. If you like, you can help set the sails – no previous experience is necessary. Enjoy lunch on board before arriving in Oudeschild in the afternoon. Dinner is on your own today – explore the harbor and stop at one of the lovely restaurants.

Day 4: Texel island tour / Oudeschild – Den Helder, approx. 43-48 km
Today you will explore the island of Texel by bike – either on a short or extended tour. You will ride through nature parks, flower fields, and villages to the Ecomare seal sanctuary. At the end of the day, it is worth visiting the small brewery near Oudeschild. In the late afternoon, the ship will take you back to Den Helder.

Day 5: Den Helder – St. Maartensvlotbrug – Alkmaar, approx. 32-53 km
Today you will cycle through the north of North Holland with its spectacular, endless tulip fields. You can soak up the fresh sea air on the sandy beach. A detour takes you to the artists’ village of Bergen. In Alkmaar, the ship awaits you – and a charming old town known as the Dutch cheese town.

Day 6: Alkmaar Zaandam, approx. 47 km
In the morning, you will cycle through tulip fields to Egmond and Limmen. A highlight is the Hortus Bulborum, a garden museum with over 4,000 historic flower varieties. Afterwards, you will visit Zaanse Schans, which will take you back to a bygone era with its windmills, traditional houses, and craft workshops. In the afternoon, you will meet the ship in Zaandam.

Day 7: Zaandam – Keukenhof – Amsterdam, full-day bus excursion
Today, you will take a relaxing bus tour through historic tulip fields and visit the magnificent Keukenhof, the most famous flower garden in the world. Millions of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths bloom across 80 hectares. In the afternoon, you will return to Amsterdam for your last night on board.

Day 8: Amsterdam
Disembarkation after breakfast by 9:30 am, individual journey home or extension in Amsterdam.

Day 1: Amsterdam – Zaandam
Individual arrival. Boarding between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Departure for Zaandam at approximately 2:30 p.m. During the trip, your tour guide will explain the route and safety regulations. After dinner on board, the tour guide will accompany you on a walk through the center of Zaandam.

Day 2: Zaandam – Zaanse Schans – Alkmaar, approx. 47 km
In the morning, the tour heads to Zaanse Schans, a unique open-air museum with countless windmills and traditional houses, as well as a cheese factory and much more. The tour continues through colorful tulip fields to Limmen, Egmont-Binnen, and Egmont on the North Sea. A highlight is the Hortus Bulborum, a garden museum with over 4,000 rare flower varieties. In the evening, you will reach Alkmaar, known for its cheese, canals, and charming 17th-century old town.

Day 3: Alkmaar – Den Helder, approx. 30-53 km
Today’s tour takes you from Alkmaar to the North Sea, past colorful tulip fields and one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands. Visit the artists’ village of Bergen before continuing through the impressive dune reserve to Den Helder – home to the largest flower bulb field in the world.

Day 4: Den Helder – Oudeschild / Texel island tour, approx. 43-48 km
During breakfast, the ship will set sail for the island of Texel. You can then explore the island by bike – either on a short or extended tour. You will cycle through nature parks, flower fields, and villages to the Ecomare seal sanctuary. Finally, a visit to the small brewery in Oudeschild is well worth it.

Day 5: Oudeschild – Enkhuizen, sailing day
Today you will sail to Enkhuizen – you are welcome to help set the sails, even if you have no previous experience. Enjoy the trip and lunch on board. In the afternoon, you will reach the old “herring town” with its historic harbor and beautiful old town. Dinner will be on your own in one of the many local restaurants.

Day 6: Enkhuizen Hoorn – Volendam, approx. 28 km
In the morning, you will take the boat across the IJsselmeer to Hoorn, once an important port of the Dutch East India Company. In the afternoon, you will cycle via Edam, famous for its world-renowned cheese, to Volendam, a picturesque fishing village on the banks of the IJsselmeer.

Day 7: Volendam – Keukenhof – Amsterdam, full-day bus excursion
Today, you will take a relaxing bus tour through historic tulip fields and visit the magnificent Keukenhof, the most famous flower garden in the world. Millions of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths bloom across 80 hectares. In the afternoon, return to Amsterdam for your last night on board.

Day 8: Amsterdam
Disembarkation after breakfast by 9:30 am, individual journey home or extension in Amsterdam.

Due to different wind and weather conditions, as well as organizational necessities, we reserve the right to change the itinerary. The skipper and his crew discuss the possibilities daily with the guests and will do everything to offer you an unforgettable, varied and active week.

Electric bikes | E-Bikes | Pedelecs

We provide you with modern quality e-bikes with 7- or 8-speed hub gears and step-by-step selectable assistance for pedalling power. The range of the battery depends on the support level, riding style, body weight and terrain.

IMPORTANT: book early, because of limited capacity!


Bicycle breakdowns

Breakdowns can happen, also when bikes are well serviced and maintained. Flats can be fixed by yourself. If there’s a difficult repair you may call the local representative. Please don’t get any repairs done on the bike without informing the tour operator/local representative and their approval.


Bringing of own bikes

Bringing your own bicycles is ony available in a limited number and a fee needs to be paid as there is not much space. Due to safety reasons you must not charge your E-Bike batteries in your cabin!

If you bring your own bicycle, please pay attention to the following aspects: You are personally responsible for your own bike on board and ashore. Protect your bike against theft on board, as well as on land with a lock. The bikes will be brought on board and from board by the crew. Due to the local conditions we cannot prevent scratches and damages on the bikes.

Please understand that we cannot accept any liability. The bikes on board are exposed to weather conditions because the parking is not covered. Please bring along your own spare material and repair kit for your bike. The fees for parking of own bikes on board you can find under prices.

Arrival by plane

Airport: Amsterdam Schipol (AMS)
From Schiphol airport to the ship you best take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. You can buy a ticket in the central arrival hall at the airport.

Arrival by car

Almost everywhere in Amsterdam - within the Ringweg ring road - parking is only allowed in official car parks and multi-storey car parks. Parking in the city centre of Amsterdam is now charged at around €5,-/hour. There are several car parks in the city centre. Some are connected to the parking guidance system. The blue and white signs of this system point to the next car park where there are still free spaces. Parking on yellow kerbs is prohibited. Caution: Wheel clamps (Wielklemm) may be used. Fines for parking violations are high.

Oosterdock car park
A monitored multi-storey car park right next to the Central Station (exclusively for cars up to 2.10 m high). The economy rate is about € 275,- per week. No advance reservation possible. You can find more information here.

We are happy to reserve a parking space for you on request and subject to availability. On the day of arrival, your car will be picked up at the pier and returned to the ship on the day of departure. Cost per week (8 days/7 nights) - car: approx. € 185,- (payment in cash on site) → booking-form.
