Loire by Bike + Boat Anna Maria V

The Loire valley at the Burgundy

    • The small region in Burgundy between Montargis within the Loire Valley and Nevers is well-suited for both cycling and sailing.

Following the flow of the Loire River, this Loire Valley bike tour gently rolls through green countryside with charming little villages sporadically intermingled. The rich landscape bears many fruitful vineyards.

Of particular fame are the wines from Pouilly-sur-Loire and Sancerre; and of course there are the Burgundy (Bourgogne) wines, said to be among the most prestigious in the world.

      Good cycling, sub-par boat

We had a so-so week on the Anna Maria. The cabins are very small, which we expected. The food, however, was a disappointment. Breakfast was the same every morning. Always the same type of bread. No eggs, pastries, croissants, or rolls. Only one ...
