What is waiting for you is a land full of charme, history and art, enriched by unexpected surprises bearing witness to its ancient past: fairy castles, aristocratic villas but also typical cellars where local people are keeping alive the pleasure of hospitality... you will absolutely need to taste their delicious local products! In this area the winemaking tradition has ancient roots; the first written evidence of Prosecco dates back to 1772 and nowadays, even though sparkling wines are widespread throughout the whole country, only the product born from these particular graves, with its floral and fruity scent, can bring in the world the name of „Prosecco“.
A cycling tour suitable to everybody, following good cycle paths and secondary roads far from heavy traffic. All overnights are in the same hotel.
Individual arrival in Follina/Revine Lago.
Leaving from Follina/Revine Lago you arrive to Cison di Valmarino, which is well known to be „one of the most beautiful villages in Italy“; you continue following the cycle path all around the lakes, Lago di Revine and Santa Maria. You then cycle further to Rolle, a beautiful village surrounded by vineyards, before descending along secondary routes far from heavy traffic and nestled among the Prosecco vineyards; you reach Farrò and Miane before going back to your accommodation in Follina/Revine Lago.
This stage leads you first towards Col San Martino and then to Vidor where you cross the bridge on the river Piave. You continue following secondary roads up and down before reaching Asolo, a small pictoresque medieval village which is referred to as „the city of a hundred horizons“ , a real open-air museum surrounded by the ancinet walls and dominated by the fortress above Monte Ricco. This charming atmosphere is further enriched by Venetian Villas spread along the way, which are the product of famous architects such as Andrea Palladio. Once you leave Asolo you descend towards Pagnano and Romano d’Ezzelino and get to the final destination: Bassano Del Grappa. Here you can visit the Poli Grappa museum; as a final emotion for today, do not miss to take a picture while crossing the famous wooden bridge dedicated to the Alpini, a specialized mountain corp in the Italian Army, particulalrly active during the WWI/II.
You leave Toblach or Niederdorf and arrive firstly to Innichen/San Candido, before you overstep the nearby Italian-Austrian border in the nearness of Winnebach/Prato Drava. Suavely you cycle to Lienz, which is located on the confluence of Isel and Drava. Worth seeing are the Historic Centre and the castle "Schloss Bruck". Return transfer to your hotel in the afternoon.
Today you have the possibility to choose how to spend your day in this charming area: you can visit Treviso and visit the central place Piazza Dei Signori or the Dome or just go shopping in the local shops; or let yourself be captivated by the magic of Venice with its numerous palaces and hidden places.
Today‘s tour takes you to one of the most famous and important wine-growing areas in italy. You cycle across that strip of land covered by the Prosecco hills, in the very heart of the wine culture: in front of you a succession of different landscapes, far horizons and vineyards will flow. After a short climb you reach Refrontolo and descend to Solighetto. From Col San Martino you continue to Colbertaldo and to Valdobbiadene which is the capital of the Prosocco, together with Conegliano. Returning to Guia enjoy a break at the famous tavern Osteria Senz’Oste for a tasting : some typical and local products are awaiting you together with a glass of good Prosecco. You finally descend to Follina while enjoying a breathtaking view on the vineyards of Santo Stefano.
Only 2 km after starting your daily stage you can admire the awesome castle of Castel Brando in Cison di Valmarino before continuing towards Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano where you can sit and have a coffee at the Castle feet. Back on the saddle you reach the beautiful Castello of San Salvatore in Susegana; don`t miss a delightful break at the estates Tenute Caldella for a enogastronimic tasting proposed by the former professional cyclist Flavio Vanzella. Once again only a few kilometers to cover before joining the castle in Collalto, from where a transfer will take you to your hotel.
