Level 1; All routes are signposted. Cycling is on fully developed bike paths and asphalt side roads. The proposed bike lanes in the city center are separated from public and private traffic. There are traffic lights in the city center. Some short sections outside the city on gravel roads, dirt roads and roads with moderate traffic.

Day 1: Vienna

Individual arrival. Use your arrival day to explore the surroundings. How about a walk through the city center? St. Stephen’s Cathedral is just a few minutes away from the hotel. Take the Vienna Heurigen Express (optional) to immerse yourself in the world of Vienna’s wine culture.

Day 2-5: Routings/program suggestions

Below you can find our suggestions for the nicest bike tours in the surroundings. It is up to you, which ones you choose and combine...or if you do something completely different. Vienna is one of Austria´s capital and is known for its cultural and historical significance - you can plan this home-based tour however it suites you best.

Tour 1: Habsburg Tour, approx. 36 km

On this tour you will cycle in the footsteps of the once glorious Austrian Empire. Let yourself be captivated by the splendor of the magnificent buildings. The Ringstrasse will amaze you. The Vienna Hofburg is impressive in its size and beauty. In the Imperial Treasury and the Sisi Museum you will find the most valuable objects of the K&K monarchy. The collected impressions will prepare you for the crowning highlight of the day’s tour. You will go by bike to the center of the Habsburg court, the Schönbrunn Palace. Long live the Empire!

Tour 2: Vienna Art Treasures Tour, approx. 19 km

On this tour, the bicycle accompanies you into the world of classical and modern Viennese art. Along the route you will discover both the architecturally valuable Hundertwasserhaus, as well as globally significant works of art history. The world-famous collections in the Albertina, the Secession as well as the MUMOK and MAK invite you to marvel. The day’s tour also takes you past the street art at Vienna’s Danube Canal.

 

Tour 3: Time Out in Vienna Tour, ca. 40 km

This day’s stage is all about Vienna’s recreational areas in parks and gardens. Join the residents of the city and find relaxation in Vienna’s green spaces on your bike. Leisurely ride through the Vienna Prater and to the magnificent gardens of Vienna’s old town. Particularly worth seeing are the Botanical Garden at Belvedere Palace and the Augarten, Vienna’s oldest baroque garden. Two flak towers are also enthroned here as a reminder of the Second World War. In addition, the Danube Island and traditional Heurigen inns in the north of the city await you, welcoming you with wines from the current season and sometimes folk live music. Relaxation and hospitality is capitalized here.

Tour 4: National Park Donau-Auen Tour, approx. 30 - 60 km

The city of Vienna borders an important national park in Austria, the Donau-Auen National Park. This area is the last large river floodplain landscape in central Europe and is home to countless animal and plant species. Experience this natural landscape on your saddle! Starting from the national park center Orth, you can either change the bank of the Danube with the ferry (not included in the price) and start the return journey by train (only possible on day 4), or enjoy the bike ride back to the city on Danube Island.

Tour 5: Weinviertel-Donau Tour, ca. 55 km

Today’s bike tour takes you to the gates of the enchanting Weinviertel and beyond. Klosterneuburg awaits you with the Augustinian Canons’ Monastery steeped in history. With the ferry (not included in the price) you will cross the Danube and starting from Korneuburg, you will take the Weinviertel-Danube region into your heart. Kreuzenstein Castle will take you back to the Middle Ages. Cellar alleys along the cycle path testify to the traditional winegrowing in this region.

Danube Cycle Path to Bratislava incl. train and boat ride, approx. 45 km

The Danube Cycle Path takes you to the Slovakian capital Bratislava. The train will first take you to Maria Ellend a.d. Donau (included in the additional package). From here on you are in the middle of the Danube Floodplains National Park with its unique flora and fauna. With the ferry (not included in the price) you will reach the national park center Orth Castle and Eckertsau Castle. Here the imperial couple of Austria resided in the last days of the monarchy. Your journey continues to the spa town of Bad Deutsch Altenburg, where the Romans already left their mark. The Slovakian capital Bratislava enchants with a dreamy old town and numerous magnificent buildings. The castle towers high above the Danube. The boat takes you back to Vienna on the Danube (included in the additional package).


Thermal region tour incl. wine tasting, approx. 59 km

Your tour today will take you to beautiful Lower Austria, to Baden near Vienna. You will cross Vienna from north to south, passing numerous imposing Viennese splendorous buildings. At the city limits, the vastness of the Vienna Basin awaits you. Laxenburg Castle and picturesque wine-growing areas invite you to linger. At the „Freigut Thallern“, one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in Austria with its history started in 1141, you will taste the fine wines of this region (included in the additional package). The highlight of the day tour is the spa town of Baden. With its spas, it belongs  to the UNESCO world cultural heritage. The train takes you back to Vienna (included in the additional package).

In addition, the hotel is perfectly connected to the public transport network, as well as the urban & regional bike path network. Therefore, this hotel is an ideal starting point for activities inside and outside the city of Vienna. The modern city hotel offers all the amenities you need for your visit to Vienna, including a fitness room with city view. The rooms are about 20 m² in size with spacious bathroom. The toilet is separate. The air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen satellite TV provide additional comfort.

    Rental bicycles & equipment

    Our bicycles are state-of-the-art quality bikes, designed specifically for the requirements and wishes of our guests. This is how we created easy-running, robust touring bikes with a low comfort entry, precise Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub gears, modern V-brakes, hollow aluminum rims and puncture-proof tires. The elevating handlebars allow for comfortable and back-friendly riding. The bikes in our fleet are mostly not older than 3 years. During the duration of the trip you are liable for any damage, loss or theft.

    The following bikes are available with 28" tires in various frame sizes (Men’s frames are provided for men over 188 cm):

    • 24-speed trekking bikes UNISEX* with hand brakes and freewheel
    • E-bikes (pedelecs) UNISEX
    • child seat, child trailer, pull-along bikes

    Our rental bikes are equipped with a spacious waterproof pannier, a handy handlebar bag, service kit with tools, air pump,bike lock per room.


    E-Bikes | Electric bikes | Pedelecs

    We provide you with modern quality e-bikes (pedelecs) with 7 or 8-speed hub gears, gradually selectable aid of pedaling power, puncture-proof tires and low UNISEX comfort entry. The bikes have a powerful motor and a strong lithium-ion battery, one battery charge is enough for up to 70 kilometers. You conserve your battery by starting with the lowest possible assistance and increasing it as needed. You charge the batteries at night using the charger.

    IMPORTANT: please reserve ebikes early, as they are only available in very limited numbers.


    Breakdowns

    Breakdowns or punctures can occur even with new wheels and the best maintenance. Fix punctures yourself, in case of major damage please contact our on-site staff. Please do not have any repairs done to the bikes without our approval.


    Bringing of own bikes

    You are welcome to bring your own bike. This is specially adapted to your needs and we understand very well that you would naturally like to have it with you on your bike trip. Do not forget to bring a tool bag including necessary keys and spare tube as well as a lock and check the bike for functionality before your departure.
