Day 1: Constance
Individual arrival to Constance. Use the opportunity to discover the numerous sights worth seeing in the council city. Visit the flower island Mainau, the monastery church Reichenau, the Sea Life Center or the Rosegartenmuseum, where one can relax in the inner courtyard of the cafeteria.
Day 2: Constance – Friedrichshafen/surroundings, approx. 45 - 60 km
Today’s first highlight is the flower island Mainau – an experience of nature all year long. Enjoy the beauty and the tranquillity of nature, before your route leads you to Wallhausen. You then travel by ferry (on your own) and cross over the Überlinger Lake to Überlingen. It is recommended to take a side-trip to the monastery church in Birnau and to the pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen.
Day 3: Friedrichshafen – Bregenz/Höchst, approx. 35 - 45 km
Today you will reach the Lake Constance metropolis Lindau, the border triangle between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Visit the old city and the lighthouse with the lion pier, the landmark of Lindau. You will then reach the cultural stronghold Bregenz. Stroll through the old city or travel by cable car onto the 1064m high Pfänder and enjoy the unique view of Lake Constance. After travelling through the nature reserve of the Rhine delta, the largest fresh water delta in Europe, you will reach Höchst.
Day 4: Bregenz/Höchst – Constance, approx. 55 - 65 km
After travelling through the Rhine delta, you cycle into Switzerland. In the Canton Thurgau, the journey leads through various landscapes with the small villages and huge fruit plantations. A dreamlike view of Lake Constance and the impressive alpine foothills accompany you to Constance. The route can be shortened by 21 km with a train ride from Romanshorn to Constance (on your own).
Day 5: Constance
