Route

Tour profile / Level 2

Country roads, cycling paths, field paths, terrain is hilly with some larger uphill stretches.

Day 1: St. Wolfgang

Arrival at the Lake Wolfgangsee and the much-praised St. Wolfgang. Check-in and handover of the cycle tour documents at the hotel.

Day 2: Bad Ischl, approx. 35 km

The cycle tour from St. Wolfgang to Bad Ischl leads through picturesque landscapes of the Salzkammergut and offers a visit to the historic Kaiservilla. After the cultural highlight, the tour continues to Abersee, from where you take the ferry back to St. Wolfgang. After arriving in St. Wolfgang, the tour ends with a stop at the “Seerestaurant Im Weißen Rössl”, where a freshly prepared Kaiserschmarrn is served as the crowning finale. The fluffy, golden-brown Kaiserschmarrn, accompanied by plum compote, is a true delicacy and rounds off the royal day of cycling perfectly.

Day 3: Salzkammergut lake tour, approx. 55 km

Today’s cycle tour takes you through the idyllic Weißenbachtal valley to Lake Attersee, where you will be impressed by the clear, turquoise water surface of the lake. From there, the route continues to Lake Mondsee and finally to St. Gilgen, always accompanied by the majestic mountains of the Salzkammergut. In St. Gilgen, a relaxed boat ride across Lake Wolfgangsee awaits you back to St. Wolfgang. Take the opportunity to visit the Höplinger fishery at Lake Wolfgangsee, where freshly caught specialties from the Salzkammergut lakes, such as smoked char or trout, are offered daily.

Day 4: Salzburg

Today you will take the bus from St. Wolfgang to Salzburg, where you can discover the city on a guided tour. You will experience the most important sights, including Mozart’s birthplace and Mirabell Palace, which was once filled with the genius’s music. After a day full of cultural impressions, you will return to St. Wolfgang by bus. A sweet highlight awaits you there at the Café “Erlebnisquartier”: a delicious dessert called Mozartkugel, which is modeled after the famous chocolates. This creation of chocolate, marzipan and nougat brings Mozart’s pleasure to life in a modern variation.

Day 5: Lake Hallstatt, approx. 55 km

The cycle tour leads through the impressive landscape of the Inner Salzkammergut to picturesque Hallstatt. There, a visit to the “Salzkontor” in the historic Salzhaus awaits, where you can taste different salts and learn about the history of the “white gold”. After this insight into the world of salt, a short boat ride across Lake Hallstatt takes you to Hallstatt train station. Take the train to Bad Ischl, and from there you will cycle back to St. Wolfgang. This tour combines nature, culture and culinary experiences into an unforgettable adventure.
