Day 1: Cochem–
Embarkation and check-in from 14:00. After welcoming you, the tour guide will take you on a walk through Cochem. Cochem is a cozy and characteristic Moselle town with steep vineyards, wooded hills and a picturesque town center with beautiful half-timbered houses. The program includes a visit to the Reichsburg, which towers above the town.
Day 2: Cochem - Zell, approx. 39 km
After breakfast you cycle to Beilstein. The ruins of Metternich Castle tower above the village and you will have the opportunity to explore them. After leaving Beilstein, you pass the steepest vineyard in Europe at Bremmer Calmont. Today’s tour ends in Zell an der Mosel, which is famous for its "Zeller Schwarze Katz" wine.
Day 3: Zell an der Mosel - Bernkastel-Kues, approx. 45 km
Today you cycle from Zell an der Mosel to Traben-Trarbach, known for its Art Nouveau style. From there you cycle through the wine town of Kröv to Bernkastel-Kues, your destination for the night. The large half-timbered houses surrounding the market square in Bernkastel-Kues date back to the Middle Ages and are a photographer’s delight. After a city tour, you will reach the ship in Kues.
Day 4: Bernkastel-Kues - Neumagen - Schweich - Trier, approx. 28-54 km
Today you pass Brauneberg, Piesport and Trittenheim. Piesport produces some good white wines such as the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen. Trittenheim lies on a sharp bend in the Moselle and is surrounded by sweeping vineyards. You will reach Neumagen in the morning or early afternoon. Here you have the option of disembarking or cycling on to Schweich. From Schweich you travel by boat to Trier, the oldest city in Germany and today a lively and interesting university town.
Day 5: Trier - Saarburg, approx. 28 km
The day begins with an exclusive guided tour of Trier. Afterwards you have time to explore the city on your own. After a relaxed lunch, you start your cycle tour along the picturesque banks of the Moselle and Saar rivers. Your destination is Saarburg, a charming town with medieval flair, surrounded by dense forests. Here you can admire the imposing Saarburg, the 20 m high waterfall and the old mill. The evening is at leisure: Explore the narrow streets with historic houses and enjoy the local gastronomy!
Day 6: Saarburg - Remich, approx. 45-53 km
There are two options today: The easier, but slightly longer tour leads along the banks of the river, while the more challenging route takes you through hilly landscapes. With both options, you cross the border into Luxembourg on the way and get to know the small country and its wine regions. You visit a winegrowers’ cooperative specializing in Cremant, which is also known as the Champagne of the Moselle. Near Remich, your destination today, you can visit a wonderful Roman mosaic floor - 3 million individual tiles depict images of a gladiatorial contest.
Day 7: Remich - Schengen | Schengen circular tour, approx. 50 km
During an enjoyable breakfast on board, you will sail from Remich to Schengen, the namesake of the Schengen Agreement. From there, you cycle through the picturesque Moselle valley to cross the border into France. After lunch, you will reach Thionville, the former center of the steel industry. Explore the medieval town walls and historic streets before making your way back to Schengen.
Day 8: Sch engen - Metz
After breakfast, you will travel by coach to Metz. You check into your hotel there for the last night and can then explore the city on your own. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the city is on the program, during which you will visit the impressive cathedral, among other things. Dinner is not included in Metz - enjoy the cuisine in one of the great restaurants!
Day 9: Metz
End of the trip. Check out after breakfast, by 09:30. Individual departure
